William and Dartmoor Prison
William earns around £1.5 million a year from the closed prison. There’s no valid reason for him to receive the money.

William earning £1.5 million a year from the closed Dartmoor Prison has been criticised for several reasons:
1. Cost to Taxpayers:
Although the prison was shut due to high radon levels, the Ministry of Justice continues to pay rent to the Duchy of Cornwall, which is given to William. Taxpayers also face potential costs of up to £68 million for repairs, including fixing the radon issue.
2. Tax Advantages:
The Duchy of Cornwall benefits from exemptions on corporation tax and capital gains tax, giving it an unfair commercial advantage compared to other landlords or organisations. This has led to calls for the Duchy to start paying corporation tax to ensure fairness.
3. Ethical Concerns:
Many find it inappropriate for members of the royal family to profit from properties tied to public services, particularly when taxpayers are funding the maintenance of these properties, even after they are no longer in use.
Greens For A Republic demand the following:
The entire sum must be invested in the nearby town, which has suffered since the prison’s closure.
William must show how much tax he has paid
This situation has raised questions about the fairness and transparency of the monarchy's finances, as well as the ethical implications of the Duchy’s business practices.
William promotes the image of himself as an approachable heir who likes football, rides a scooter and helps homeless people.
The truth is, he is a scum landlord who needs to practice what he preaches.
